Beamsplitters

Precision Micro-Optics offers high quality polarizing beamsplitters, non-polarizing beamsplitter cubes and plates.

A polarizing beamsplitters splits randomly polarized beams into two orthogonal, linearly polarized components. S-polarized light is reflected at a 90 degree angle while P-polarized light is transmitted.

A non-polarizing beamsplitter is an optical device to split a light beam into two beams. Cubes are made form a pair of precision high tolerance right angle prisms which are glued together. Plates have a partially transmitting coating on one surface and an antireflection coating on the second surface. When the angle of incidence (AOI) is 45 degrees, it separates a beam into two beams. The ratio of the power between two beams is stated for unpolarized light.
